For my birthday I was given a great new book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends to help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday and on Wednesday’s I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
Just a normal week with this little fella
This week has been fairly boring, thankfully! There have been some lovely moments, some toddler tantrum not so lovely moments and some fairly mundane moments. It’s actually been quite normal and peaceful which is always nice.
Please tell me I am not the only one who sometimes finds themselves standing at the fridge wondering how on earth you are going to prepare a meal with what you’ve got, one that’s quick, easy and will be enjoyed by your toddler. It’s not just me is it?
Kiddyum Range
I wish I was the kind of mum who was organised enough to always have meals planned and live with a permanently stocked fridge, but I am not. So when Kiddyum got in touch to see if L would like to try some of their frozen ready meal range I was really excited.
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is what gives me a good case of mummy guilt!

When I was a child I loved my LEGO. It was the prized toy. With so many possibilities and it has certainly notched up a gear since I last played with it. When LEGO asked if we wanted to review some of their newest kits I of course leapt at the chance.
L’s new LEGO
First I shall share with you one of the most tragic moments of my young life.
I was given the LEGO Pirate Ship for Christmas one year. It was amazing, huge, with rigging delicate rigging, cannons that fired little LEGO cannonballs, it even had a parrot. It was the best.

This week we have been dealt a curve ball I never saw coming, one I so desperately need to write about because it is so bloody awful, one I have so many mixed emotions about and one that I could really do with some advice on. But this is one particular curve ball I can’t write about, not just yet, for many reasons.
As I’ve not long relaunched my blog I thought I’d start a new series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week I’m starting with a few simple things that make me, me!
I often chat about my lovely cat James, he has been my baby for longer than my actual baby, my centre of fluffy calm when I was in a bad place and my comfort whenever I have been sick.
Mr Jame’s
So why oh why have I not featured him on the blog? He wanted to get the chance to review something, to be the star of the show, to get all the pictures.
So when PetShop.co.uk said they were in need of some feline taste testers it seemed only fair to let Mr James in on the action and he was only too willing to participate.
It doesn’t matter how hard I try, sometimes I have to work whilst the little one occupies himself.
The main problem with this is that as soon as I am doing something, he decides that is way more exciting than whatever was holding his attention up until that point, so I have had had to become the master of quick and easy activities that he actually loves.
Do you know what the best things about winter are? It’s easy. Christmas, snow, the beach, hot chocolate and soup. Done, that’s it, a perfect winter for me. Continue reading Soup Glorious Soup→
