For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.
So I took an impromptu week off blogging last week. The building work had started and I had a million plans, so I chose to step back and decide to prioritise myself a bit. That being said I’ve now got LOADS to catch up on.!!
Here are my top ten moments from the last two weeks:

It’s been another hectic one. I cannot wait for the summer holidays just so that I don’t have to negotiate all the school goings ons. I swear I have more school related paperwork and form filling in to do than I have for the rest of my life combined and that’s coming from someone who had just sorted out all the insurance renewals!

It’s been a busy week. We’ve done lots of nice things and I’ve been pretty positive and managed to get a lot of jobs sorted out but my anxiety is through the roof at the moment.

Another lovely week, especially with half term. I love having the kid home, it’s just great and I’m genuinely sad when he goes back to school. That’s mainly why there wasn’t much activity last week, I was too busy having fun!

Things have been a bit better this week. The sun is shining and I have been making a conscious effort to look after myself, it’s been worth it. I know I’ve a tough time ahead, since we got a new manager at work we’ve had two team members hand in their notice. We’re a team of 5 including our manager. It’s about to get rocky, but there’s nothing I can do about that. Just got to stay positive.

Well, well, well it’s been a week. Everything was plodding along nicely then it all imploded. It’s always fun to be the focus of a family argument that results in tears and people walking out of a cafe without paying. I’m not handling things particularly well at the moment, but this is my happy place, so we won’t dwell on it again.

It’s been a bit manic with the kid back at school. He’s taken a while to settle back into it and been a bit of a monster in the evenings, a horrid mix of mentally exhausted but not physically tired. Bedtimes have been taxing to say the least.

I’ve had a nice week and have been able to enjoy the last week of the Easter Holidays with the kid. We’ve all had some time off and were able to do some lovely family things and make the most of the good weather.

I’ve come to realise over the last few years of blogging that my blog is a very good way to judge how my mental health is doing. Regular posts, happy and upbeat. Missing the personal posts but up to date with reviews and paid work, need a bit of self care. Not writing at all, I’m struggling and need help.

So I didn’t write this last week, not because I hadn’t had anything good happen. I did. But mainly because so many bad things had happened I just wasn’t writing at all.
