This Plus That Equals…. My Perfect Summer

This plus that equals…. my perfect summer

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about what would make my perfect summer, a wish list if you will.

How fabulous has the weather been? Not to be too British about it, but it has been a bit too warm on occasion #melting! It’s certainly got me thinking about those things that go towards making a perfect summer.

Fantastic Father’s Day Gifts from intu Chapelfield

Still need to get your Dad a gift for Sunday. I’m here to prove that it’s easy. On Monday L and I headed into Norwich and went to intu Chapelfield, we walked away with bags full of great gifts.

We had been set a challenge. Prove that you can get great gifts for less than £50.00. No socks allowed. Have fun. We could get one big gift, or lots of little ones, that was up to us. We had a £50 intu voucher to spend, which can be used at all the shops inside intu Chapelfield apart from the food and drink outlets.

Feeling Calm #67

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

It has been a really lovely week. Back to normal for the most part, nice and calm, some lovely mummy and son time as well. Which is the best.

So here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

This Plus That Equals…. Special Moments

This plus that equals…. special moments

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about those special moments.

We’ve just had a fabulous holiday, filled with fabulous moments but I’m currently sat typing with L cuddled in right next to me and you know what? That’s pretty special too. So just what makes those special moments?

Our #RailAdventure to The Museum of East Anglian Life

You may remember during the Easter Holidays Greater Anglia launched their #RailAdventure campaign and we headed out for a great Adventure to Somerleyton Hall. Well to kick off the Half Term we’ve been on another #RailAdventure, this time we went to Stowmarket and The Museum of East Anglian Life.

A New Menu at Turtle Bay

I love eating at Turtle Bay in Norwich. I’ve got a soft spot for it having been there for the launch and visiting several times since. So I couldn’t wait to try out the new menu.

I was really happy to see some more vegetarian options and some new cocktails, as well as vegan dishes and gluten free dishes, not forgetting some new meaty dishes including more burgers.

We love eating out as a family

Feeling Calm #62

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Well I nearly skipped this week, but the reasons I nearly skipped it are the exact same reasons I needed to write it.

I’ve been feeling more than a little overwhelmed these last few days. Logically there’s no real reason for it, so I know it is just me and my issues. I have been putting things off which is ridiculous as it doesn’t help. I’m tired, so tired, in fact I opened up my laptop to start writing, then promptly fell asleep. It is the middle of the day!

Now, however, I’m awake. With lots to do. Starting with my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Sandringham setting for Butterfly Walk fundraiser

The Benjamin Foundation’s annual Butterfly Walk on Sunday 25th June

East Anglian charity, The Benjamin Foundation, will hold its fourth annual Butterfly Walk at Sandringham Country Park on Sunday 25th June.

The Walk will follow one of Sandringham’s trails, and is around three miles long, meandering through the Country Park’s historic woodland. Quiz questions are posted along the route, providing added fun for adults and children, with prizes for the best set of answers in each age group up for grabs at the end of the Walk. Within the Country Park there are plenty of perfect picnic spots, a large children’s play area, restaurant, gift shop and a farmers’ market, so a lovely day out for the whole family.

Feeling Calm #61

For my birthday last year I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

It hs been one busy week! Husb has been busy, I have been busy, even little L has been busy. Having the Bank Holiday was a nice treat though.

Whilst we have been doing some lovely things I am hoping this week and next are a bit calmer.

Feeling Calm
Just too busy for the little man!

So without further ado here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

This Plus That Equals…. A Weekend Off

This plus that equals…. A Weekend Off

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about the joys of a weekend off.

Not a weekend off work, although that happened as well. No, the heady joys of a weekend off parenting.
