Summer at Barracudas Activity Day Camps

L spent 4 days of his first week off school with the guys and girls (and fish) of Barracudas in Norwich. He went with his best friend and had a blast.

I’ve already spoken about how much he enjoyed it when he went at Easter, and how helpful I’ve found it as a childcare solution. I’ve worried about what to do as a first time attendee/parent at the camp.

Starting on 31 July through to 29 August, the intu family club will be offering families free activities every Wednesday and Thursday, from 10am – 4pm. And this summer, the intu family club sessions are inspired by nature, wildlife, and in particular – creepy crawlies, making it great entertainment for children who love discovering more about insects, mini beasts and the great outdoors.

Norwich Foodbank urges shoppers to donate at intu Chapelfield and top-up supplies ahead of summer

A Norwich Foodbank donation station has been set up at intu Chapelfield shopping centre to accept donations of food, drink and toiletries. The charity, Norwich Foodbank, says supplies run low during the summer months, as parents struggling financially have the added pressure of children being off school.

You can donate to Norwich Foodbank at intu Chapelfield 16 June – 7 July

Dealing with the Summer Holidays

Well that’s one week of the final half term of school done and dusted, only five weeks of school left. If you’re a working parent like me you’ll already be planning for the long six week break of summer.

I’m ridiculously lucky at my work and have been able to book most of the break off as annual leave. I’ve had to rope the inlaws in for a few days and obviously my husband can take time off as well. However, despite that I’ve still had one week left to cover and only having one week makes me one of the lucky ones! Most of my friends are at their wits end trying to make it all work.

Cheese Making at Fielding Cottage

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to experience a whistlestop cheese making tour at Fielding Cottage as part of a press day. I made my own cheese, got to see how they make their award winning cheeses, eat a lot of it (I was not complaining) and have a look at the gorgeous holiday cottages.

Barracudas Activity Day Camps

So we’re half way through the February Half Term and if you are anything like me managing a week off work is doable but the thought of the two week Easter Break and the Summer holidays on top of a job is worrisome to say the least.

This year I’m working as a Brand Ambassador for Barracudas and I couldn’t be happier to share it with you all.

Treasure Trails – Wymondham

If you are like me then you’ll want to be getting outdoors whatever the weather. However, this time of year, when it’s cold, wet and windy it can be hard to find the enthusiasm for it. Harder still to get the rest of the family on board. That’s one of the many reasons we love Treasure Trails, how better to persuade a five year old out of the warm and into the cold than becoming super spies for the day, spies with a mission to solve.

Testing the new Kids Menu at Turtle Bay

When it comes to eating out L is pretty easy-going, I literally can’t think of anywhere that we wouldn’t go with him. That being said, if he has a choice, he will only ever pick one of two places, Turtle Bay or McDonald’s (the lure of the Happy Meal is strong).

Trim your tree like royalty with a butterfly bauble from intu Chapelfield

Decorating the Christmas tree signals the festive season has arrived and this year people in Norfolk are being encouraged to hang an extra special bauble, to help raise money for a fantastic local cause, and trim up just like royalty.
