Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about reading. Something that I have always loved and couldn’t live without, so I thought I would share some of authors I love with you.
I’m a complete murder mystery addict, as you’ll soon be able to tell. But just in case anyone wants to know what my favourite ever book is, you’ll be surprised to hear it is A Bear Called Paddington – Michael Bond. To this day it is my go to book when I’m ill and it still makes me laugh.
A couple of weeks ago we had another fun delivery from JCB Kids. As always L was very excited and absolutely delighted with his new goodies.
He got some fabulous pajamas from the range available at George, great digger printed bottoms with a fun Joey top which quite frankly he could wear as a T-Shirt, there is a chance that he maybe has! At only £9.00 for the set I think this is really good value, everything washes up well and has been tumble dried several times. Continue reading Reading with JCB Kids→
Don’t be put off the small size of The Adventure Suit. It is the biggest amount of fun you can find it such a small space.
The Adventure Suit is the first mini interactive book from augmented reality company Zappar. It’s a great way to combine reading with technology and game play. It could help get kids more excited about reading or just provide a new way to play.
We love reading to L, it’s part of our bedtime routine. I regularly ignore age ranges on books too, and I’m so glad I did as otherwise I would have never discovered the wonderful Whimsy Wood series by Sarah Hill. I couldn’t be more excited to get to read book 9 Fearne Fairy and the Chocolate Caterpillar.
I’ll quickly explain why I love the Whimsy Wood books so much. Based in a lovely magical, woodland. They are soft and warm and filled with great fun and a strong sense of the natural world. They are the book form of that idyllic childhood feeling we all want our kids to have. You can read my previous reviews here and here. Continue reading The Whimsy Wood Series→
I was recently approached by the lovely people at WILF Books, who introduced me to their concept. As you know I fully support anything that gets kids and books together, but this goes so much further than that and I loved the idea.
WILF Books are a children’s book subscription service delivering your child personalised and relevant books on a monthly basis, along with an opportunity for them to share their own unused books for other children to enjoy. Continue reading Introducing WILF Books→
