Feeling Calm #153

For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Today has not been a good day, but today also isn’t part of the last 7 days, which were, on the whole pretty good. I need to concentrate on some self care a bit more, but otherwise it’s been a lovely week.

Here are my top ten moments from the last 7 days:

Half Term was amazing. We had the best time, it was so chilled out and just lovely. Both L and I have been a bit sad now he’s back at school but we’ll soon get back in the groove of it all.

I still haven’t got that balance quite right at the moment, things are improving but life can be a struggle at times! I didn’t even do my round up last week, so it’s good to be back. At least it’s half term and I’ve got my kid back for a few days of fun.

Feeling Calm #149

For my birthday a couple of years ago I was given a great book ‘Calm’ and a journal from my friends. To help me find some calm in my life and to de-stress a little. I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

This has been a funny old week. Some real highs and a few lows. I’m so physically tired I’ve made myself ill, so I enforced a day of rest upon myself and feel a million times better, just stressed about the growing to do list. It’s hard to find a balance between being happy that I’m on top of things without making myself ill because I’m exhausted.

I have been writing in my journal everyday since and on Wednesday’s (or late on a Tuesday) I go through the daily highlights I’ve written down and pick out my 10 favourites.

Ok, so clearly last week I was feeling smug with my whole I’ve got this vibe! I have not got this, not at all. I’ve been in a bit of a pickle mentally this week. Feeling entirely overwhelmed but with no focus or appetite to work either. Classic signs that I’m on the brink of darkness. I have found that since I have have gained the ability to notice these signs, then write about them, I can often often avoid the dreadful spiral into the depths of it all. So here’s hoping.

Hooray for lovely normal, totally unexciting days. It’s been so nice to just get on with everyday bits and bobs and feel like I’m achieving something whilst still getting to catch up with friends and not feel entirely overwhelmed.
