Room with a View – Greater Anglia Trains

I think we are lucky to live in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. With fabulous coastline, nature reserves and amazing walking pretty much wherever you turn. This summer I can barely think of a day where we haven’t been out exploring it, but all to often I miss huge chunks of what there is on offer as I’m travelling. Greater Anglia agree, which is why they think you should travel by train, where you will always have the best seat (and view) in the house.

East Anglia Transport Museum

The East Anglia Transport Museum is another new find for us this year. Unlike some of the other places we have visited for the first time, this one we hadn’t even heard of! This is really sad as I genuinely feel like I have deprived L of a few years worth of fun. Simply put, we love it and if you are looking for a fun day out over the summer holidays I couldn’t recommend this more.East Anglia Transport Museum

Kentwell Hall

After a lovely morning flying owls at Lavenham Falconry, we wanted to make the most of our child free day. At the recommendation of the guys at the falconry centre we headed to Kentwell Hall. We had never visited before and it sounded amazing. We were not let down and I only wish we had taken L with us as he would have loved it, it is so child friendly!Kentwell Hall

Flying Owls at Lavenham Falconry

I love owls. Always have done. So when Husb got me an owl experience from Lavenham Falconry for our wedding anniversary last year I was thrilled. I can’t believe I’ve only just found a second o write about it. Oh and I’m going to apologise now for all the photos, there are a lot and I narrowed down my selection!!Lavenham Falconry Continue reading Flying Owls at Lavenham Falconry

Our Visit to Orford Castle

Last year I treated us to English Heritage membership. To be fair it was a no brainer. Membership for two adults, with L free, is £30 in Tesco Clubcard Vouchers. So it was next to no money. L loves castles, English Heritage have a lot. It’s free days out for a year.

I’m going to try to write about all the properties we visit using our membership. What I liked, didn’t like, share some pictures. We’ve already made our money back on the membership, so I am very happy it is good value for money.

Our #RailAdventure to The Museum of East Anglian Life

You may remember during the Easter Holidays Greater Anglia launched their #RailAdventure campaign and we headed out for a great Adventure to Somerleyton Hall. Well to kick off the Half Term we’ve been on another #RailAdventure, this time we went to Stowmarket and The Museum of East Anglian Life.

Our #RailAdventure to Somerleyton Hall & Gardens

This summer I had promised L a trip on a train. I hadn’t given it much thought, I just knew it would be something he would enjoy. So when Greater Anglia launched their #RailAdventure campaign and wanted to know if we would like to take part I leapt at the chance.

Waiting and watching for trains at Wymondham Station

We are lucky enough to be situated close to two rail stations, Diss and Wymondham. In fact we spend quite a bit of time at Wymondham Station thanks to the delightful Station Bistro. A lovely establishment that allows us to enjoy great food whilst watching the trains go by, it one of L’s and mine favourite spots.
