Hobbycraft are helping us get in the Christmas Spirit with their 12 Makes of Christmas. They are hosting festive demos and sharing a range of inspiring makes and project guides to help those looking to create a handmade Christmas. This week we are making some great Home Decor items.
Each week I’ll be making the projects and featuring them on my blog to give you some inspiration. So, with the help of Hobbycraft and their sewing kits I’m hoping inspire you. I’ll also be sharing some other picks from the Hobbycraft site that I love.
If you fancy having a go yourself pop to your local Hobbycraft Store on Saturday 21st October between 12pm and 2pm for an instore demonstration.

Make one. Christmas Tree Bunting.
This £3 kit comes with everything you need to make your own string of Christmas Tree Bunting. You only need to have a needle and scissors at home.

I loved making this. It was quick and easy, I did it in an evening. It looks great and it doesn’t matter if everyone you know buys the same kit you’ll all decorate your trees differently.
L has fallen in love the bunting and wants it in his room!

This £5 kit only needs you to own scissors, a needle and fabric glue. With all the precut fabric you need for the 3 Wise Men, 2 Shepherds, Mary and baby Jesus, Joseph and the Angel Gabriel.
Sewing is where my heart lies. My first craft love if you will. There’s no two ways about it the Nativity Kit was tough and tested my patience, so just think about that when you make your Home Decor choices.

I was pleased with the overall outcome and happy that I have something I can use to talk to L about Christmas, you know, a discussion that’s not just Santa and presents!
But the instructions weren’t great and I physically couldn’t sew all the bits they told you too so resorted to more glue than I would have liked.

My other favourites from Hobbycraft
- Kirtsie Allsop Vanilla Votive Candle Kit
- A terrarium. They have everything you could need.
- I would 100% have this Stag Head in the house, with festive decoupage papers if I thought husb would allow it.
