This Plus That Equals…. August Plans 2018

This plus that equals…. August plans

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about my plans for the coming month.

Feeling Calm
Loved hunting Go Go Hares

Finish the Go Go Hares Trail

All summer across Norwich and Norfolk there have been decorated Hares to find. With 50 City Hares to find and 18 County Hares it’s a big task. We’re nearly halfway there but as the trail ends on 8th September we’ve made it our mission to find the rest before the month is up.

We’ve been having so much fun doing it, it’s been a great excuse to get out and about and has saved me having to think of days out, I’m planning them all around the Hares! Fingers crossed we can find the rest.

Making Holiday Memories Devon 2016
Devon is the closest we’ve been as a family, can’t wait to get them to Cornwall

We are heading to Trevornick at the end of August. Just after L finishes nursery and before he starts school. It will be the perfect way to round off our summer.

Chances are I’ll cry the whole way home as for me it does mark the end of summer and means he’ll be off to school, then university and married and moved out in the blink of an eye.

I’m also really excited as it looks awesome, I’ve not been to Cornwall since I was a kid and we’ll only be a few coves away from where we stayed. Plus there is an amusement park, golf, a swimming pool and we’ll be camping, which I love. With the benefit of beds and a kitchen, which husb loves.

Last Day At Nursery

It has been on my mind for a long time but it’s finally here, August 22nd, he’ll be leaving nursery.

I’ve managed to book off the rest of August and the first two weeks of September from work so I’ll be about to have fun with him and get him settled into school.

It’s probably the biggest of all our plans this month, definitely the most important. What a milestone. VW Whitenoise 2018

VW Whitenoise Festival

I wasn’t expecting this, we arranged it rather last minute, but the VW Whitenoise Festival is at Euston Park this month.

It’s not far from us and it’s family friendly, so L and I are going to check it out. There is music, great food, crafts and lots of VW’s on display.

We’ve never been before but it sounded great so I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to go. I’m actually quite excited as it looks like the perfect mix of things we both enjoy and the weather should be awesome, still.

Something just for me

This is now definitely to be a permanent fixture. I deserve one moment a month just for me.

This month I’ve actually already had it. We spent the weekend with Broads Escapes at Reedmere Cottage Potter Heigham. Right on the banks of the river.

It was such a last minute thing, literally arranged Friday morning to arrive Friday afternoon. Husb would have most likely said no if it were down to him, he’s really stressed at the moment and the rush of it bothered him.

However, the Broads are one of my happy places and I love being by the water. For me it is instant calm and I made it work. So whilst it benefitted all of us, it really was my something just for me, I just forced everyone else to come with!

Finally, I’m linking up with #TwinklyTuesday, #Blogstravaganza and #StayClassyMama

  1. Aww! Last day at nursery already. What a big boy. I hope you have a fab time in Cornwall. Thank you for joining us at #stayclassymama

  2. the one thing I hate the most about August is that it is so hot! But the one thing I love about August is that I get to celebrate the birth of my eldest child. #StayClassyMama

  3. Sounds like you have an exciting month ahead. I love camping but hubby doesn’t like it as he likes his bed too much. Maybe we should try glamping instead #TwinklyTuesday
