This plus that equals…. my favourite food
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about my favourite food. Maybe it’s because I’m trying to lose weight, but I’m thinking about food a lot at the moment.

Mexican
Definitely my favourite cuisine. I love the spice. All the melted cheese. The guacamole. Mmmmmm.
It can be a difficult choice sometimes as L isn’t the biggest fan of spicy foods, he loves the flavour but not the heat. So it’s often something we cook at home so I can modify his meal slightly.
That said if ever I get a day out to myself or with husb it’ll be the first restaurant I try to track down.

Chinese
I live in a very small village. We have two shops. A hairdressers and a chinese takeaway. Good thing I love chinese food.
It’s not something I have ever been able to master cooking at home and anything you get from the supermarket is a bit rubbish. So takeaway it is.
The only thing is husb likes very different things to me and other than egg fried rice there’s nothing we will share!! So I never get exactly what I want and neither does he. To do that we’d end up ordering enough to last a fortnight. It does make a lovely treat though.

Thai
Poor old husb never thought he would like Thai food. He’d never tried it so I don’t know he came up with that opinion, but regardless, he didn’t like it so I never got to eat it.
It all changed after I was offered a cooking lesson at School of Wok to review and I took husb along for the fun of it. Turns out he’s pretty good in the kitchen, when under close supervision and loves Thai food. It’s the delicate spices and mix of textures I love.
Such light and fresh food, I think it’s perfect for the summer.

Italian
Italian covers so many foods that are almost a staple in our diet I often forget it’s an option. Delicious pastas, to die for pizzas.
Good classic family favourites here. L will do almost anything for pizza and pasta is my go too meal if I want to hide a vegetable, I can bang so much into the sauce and husb doesn’t even notice.
Fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella salads. Bread, cheese, seafood and vegetables all have their place and restaurant wise it’s always a safe bet for us.

Indian
Most certainly husb’s fave food and is automatic choice for takeaway is a curry.
Again it’s something he didn’t think he liked when we first met, but that soon changed. To be fair when we first met he didn’t like melted cheese, pasta, Chinese, Indian, omelette or brown bread. Live was tough then!
Now he loves a curry and trying all the different varieties. I’m there for the sides really and the rice. I love a good naan, a poppadom with all the chutneys, sag aloo, bhajis, samosas. I really could make a whole meals out of the sides.

I love all of those but right now you made me really hungry for a lovely fragrant thai! Thank you for sharing with #stayclassymama
I wish we had a decent Thai restaurant closer to us, it’s so good.
I am part Italian so love pizza and pasta: my current fave is lasagne! My kids are much more awkward and will eat perhaps one dish from each style. Thanks for linking up with #stayclassymama

I had an amazing vege lasagne the other day, reckon I could live on pasta!
Curry is my husband’s favourite too, it’s his go to takeaway! Thanks so much for sharing with #Blogstravaganza xx
I think husb would live off it if he could!
Yes, yes and yes. I’m suddenly feeling rather hungry after reading this! We live in a small town and its just filled with takeaways. The only one we don’t have is Mexican, unfortunately! Thanks for linking up #twinklytuesday x
I think it’s because I’m doing weight watchers I’m thinking about food so much. It’s not even that I can’t have what I want, I’m just focused on it! Sorry for making you hungry.
I’m always interested in hearing/reading what cuisines people are into. Being British-Indian – my fave obviously is Indian food, Thai is second and Italian is third. I live in Birmingham so we’re spoiled for choice of takeaways and restaurants x

Ooo yes, you’ve got a lot to choose from. I have to travel for my food, I try to tell myself it’s a good thing but I would love more to deliver to us.
I love all these foods too… although I think Mexican is ties with Indian for my love! #StayClassyMama

I did realise as I was writing it that I just love food!
My favorite food is bread and butter. So simple and plain hahaha. Pizza is a close runner up. BUT, now that I’m living keto, I don’t get to enjoy those foods much anymore. At least I can still eat a good steak.
Oooo fresh baked crusty bread and real butter, now that’s a treat! Actually made my stomach rumble a bit there.
