This plus that equals…. happiness
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about happiness. The simple things that make me smile.
Tuesday Adventures
The boy and l have Tuesdays off together every week, so Tuesday has become our day of adventure and I love it.
We go to events, the cinema, museums, try new walks. Sometimes we chill at home but we might bake or have a movie day.
I love our fun days with just the two of us and they make me very happy.
Travel
I love to travel. Especially by myself, not that I get the chance often.
It’s not always about exploring new countries, I’m just as happy exploring the UK.
It’s about the experiences and the people. The time out and the disconnect from the reality that is the day to day.
The cat
He can be a pain but I couldn’t imagine being without him.
James cat knows when I’m sad or ill and does his best to fix it. He’s always there with a purr or a lick when I need it.
Even a mouse or a bird if I’m super lucky, though that makes me less happy, it’s still the thought that counts.
Watching the bond L has with him makes me so happy as well. I love them.
Reading
I’m not sure if it’s happiness as much as it is contentment but I do love to read.
It’s another thing I don’t get as much time for as I’d like but when I do, mmmmm, there’s not much better.
I got through 5 books on holiday and started a 6th. That’s pretty good going.
Food
Food makes me very happy. Always has done.
Though my relationship with food isn’t the best, I use it when I’m sad, happy or anything inbetween. I’m working on improving that.
If I’ve had a dreadful day a cheese and potato pie is the warm hug that I need and chocolate, well that fixes anything!
What makes you happy?

This is a lovely post. I’m happiest around my family and friends, walking in woodland or reading a good book! Thank you for linking up with #Blogstravaganza 🙂
We’ve got a lovely wood near us I love to walk in and I’m happy the second we park the car xx
Well three (travel, reading and food) of the four you listed brings me happiness. We don’t have cats – we are dog people and they bring us so much joy. And my kids – they definitely bring me so much happiness #twinklytuesday
