This plus that equals…. June plans
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about my plans for the coming month.
Open Farm Sunday
I was really sad as I thought I would miss Open Farm Sunday this year. But instead of driving down to Newport and doing something in Wales for the day before heading to Bluestone, we are going to visit our local farm and head down to Newport afterwards.
Our local farm always puts on a great event for Open Farm Sunday. L and I have made the last two years and just had a great time. He gets to sit in various farming vehicles, what the robots milk the cows, see loads of other animals and eat a selection of amazing home made cakes.
We love it and this year are being joined by friends, it’s going to be a very good day.
Plus, if we get him good and tired he’ll sleep on the way to Wales!!
We’re really excited, we last visited Bluestone at Christmas in 2016 and had the best time. Now we are looking forward to seeing what it offers in the Summer.
I’m picturing lots of walking and evenings spent outside enjoying a drink.
It’s going to be quite a chilled out break, we don’t have much planned and quite honestly don’t think we’ll leave Bluestone. Just swim, walk, explore the woods and repeat.
First School Session
I can’t believe this is happening. I thought I would have until September before I had to worry about school.
Of course, as we have selected a nice school, they are doing nice things like having a couple of half days before the summer holidays so the reception children can meet each other and start to get used to the school.
He is flipping between excitement and pure dread like a yo-yo. I’m just trying not to cry!
After writing about train days we’d like to try we booked one in for Father’s Day. Husb gets a bit upset about being left out of our adventures sometimes, so we thought we’d treat him to a fun train and boat adventure.
We’ll be going to Ely which will be lovely as I haven’t been since I was a teen and we went on a boat trip where my sister taunted a swan with her ice cream from behind the window of our boat. The only trouble was the windows did not have glass, so the swan just lent in and ate it. Hilarious.
We’ll be going on a little boat tour as well, so I shall check the window glass situation before attempting to enjoy an ice cream. Not that I wud have a taunted a swan with it anyway, they scare me a bit.
Something just for me
This is now definitely to be a permanent fixture. I deserve one moment a month just for me.
An update from last month. Hopi Ear Candling does not work but the whole experience was very enjoyable!
My just for me moment this month is potentially a little tenuous. But I saw that Bluestone had a little get together at Camp Smokey where you could meet an owl, which obviously I wanted to do, I do love me an owl. But it was for children, those children however, had to be accompanied by an adult. You see where I’m going with this don’t you.
So yes, I have booked my son on an ‘Into the Wild’ adventure, just so I can meet an owl.
Finally, I’m linking up with #TwinklyTuesday, #Blogstravaganza, #StayClassyMama and #fortheloveofBLOG
