This plus that equals…. June plans
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about my plans for June.

All the parties
I was sorting out my monthly planner and there is only one weekend in June the kid doesn’t have a birthday party to go to. His social life is way busier and far more exciting than mine!
I’m trying to be organised on the gift front and have already got a good supply of birthday cards, I bulk buy cards so I always have plenty of those. The gifts, however, have caught me out.
I always used to have a little selection of emergency gifts, you know, for the odd birthday that would slip past me or for the unexpected gift moment. Primary school birthday parties have blown that idea out of the water. Online shopping has been my friend though.

Tractors
It’s Open Farm Sunday this month, L’s fave Sunday of the year and there is a Tractor Rally in my sister’s village. So we’ll be hanging out in fields looking at tractors quite a bit this month.
I do enjoy Open Farm Sunday and our local farm does a wonderful job of it, with loads of big machinery the kids can sit in, displays of the robots milking the cows, lots of animals, games and activities and amazing local food it’s a great day out.
The Tractor Rally will be a nice excuse to see my sister and niece. It’s a good family day and whilst a lot smaller there will be ice cream and tractors, which automatically equals a happy child.

Extension starts
If everything goes to plan, this is the month we break ground on our extension.
It seems like it’s been a long time coming and we’ve had so many problems I am struggling to believe it will actually happen. We’re meeting with the builder this week and all the plans are in place, so maybe I’m just in denial.
I feel a little bit sick at the thought of all the upheaval, the noise, the mess, the having to deal with strangers all the time. The fact it’s happening over the summer holidays so I’ll have to deal with all of this and keeping the child occupied.
It’ll be fine though, I mean, it will won’t it?

Lists
I’ve been floundering a bit recently and have only just started to pull it together.
So now I’m going back to basics and writing lists. Monthly, weekly and daily. It helps keep me motivated and organised and I know that when things start to get ticked off I will stop feeling so anxious and that can only be a good thing.
I’m hoping a good month, a productive month will start to bring me back level and a bit more like my usual self. The one who is only slightly anxious and manically organised.

Go somewhere new
I had this on the list for last month and whilst I went to a Spa I hadn’t tried before it was still in Norwich, so didn’t feel very new. We had a great time at BeWILDerwood, a place we had never been to before. We also visited some friends in their new house and had a walk along the coast with them, that was lovely and I really enjoyed it.
We often do the same activities and visit the same places but I’ve got itchy feet and I would like to make going somewhere new a regular thing.
A new town, a new museum or a new walk. I don’t really care so long as it is something different.
I think it does me good to explore and it’s the type of thing we enjoy doing a s a family so why not make a point of it and ensure it actually happens.
Finally, I’m linking up with #TwinklyTuesday and #StayClassyMama
It gets like that with parties here too! I try to keep a box full of presents in the cupboard to make life a little easier, very thankful for the sales! Lots of luck with the extension, look forward to seeing the progress! x #twinklytuesday
Thanks heavens for the lovely, but affordable, gifts from The Works!! I’ve got a box full as well now, went on a spree a the weekend. We start work on the 24th, dreading it, absolutely dreading it. Hope you’re feeling better, take it easy xx
