This plus that equals…. little things I’ve found
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about those little products you find that are just amazing. Ones you start to wonder how you ever got by before them.
Last week I was asked to review Biotrue® Daily Eyelid Wipes from Bausch + Lomb, they had teamed up with TheraPearl who make the Eye-ssential Mask for the ultimate in eye care treats. Well I’ve been using the Eye-ssential Mask for a good couple of years now and that got me to thinking about all those little products I’ve found through blogging that I now use all the time.

TheraPearl Eye-ssential Mask
The TheraPearl Eye-ssential is a mask filled with little gel beads that can be frozen or heated to give you the ideal 20 minute cold or heat treatment.
It is bliss and I use it every time I get a bad migraine or sinus headache. It is often the only time I feel any relief from the pain. So easy to use. So comfortable to wear. Honestly just amazing.
You can buy them from Superdrug for £7.99 at it will be some of the best money you have ever spent. I actually have a few of them, so I can have one in the freezer at all times and one ready for heating up.
As for the Biotrue® eye lid wipes from Bausch + Lomb, well only time will tell if they make it to this list in a few years time. But so far so good. They are refreshing, detergent free, don’t make my super sensitive eyes react at all and promote good eye hygiene and help prevent eye infection which isn’t something I had considered before.
A pack of 20 eyelid wipes costs £9.99 and are available from independent pharmacies and opticians nationwide.

Gorilla Super Glue Gel
Hands down the best super glue I have ever used. It’s now the only superglue I will buy.
It has a little pin in the lid, meaning it never gets glued shut and you can actually finish the whole tube of glue, not having to bin it after one use because you can’t get anything else out of the bottle.
It fixes everything. Wood, plastic, metal. L has broken toys of all types and Gorilla Super Glue Gel has fixed it.
Because it is a gel, it stays in one place and doesn’t run.
I honestly never thought I could get so excited about super glue. It has been a revelation to us.

Pantene Repair & Protect
You know when you find that perfect shampoo for you. The one that smells nice. Makes your hair all pretty and manageable. Oh and doesn’t cost the earth.
That is what I have found in Pantene. I’ve tried other shampoos from Pantene that haven’t worked as well for me, but this one suits me perfectly.
It is really light and doesn’t weigh my hair down at all. It is fresh and you get that squeaky clean feeling.
I can buy it everywhere, no need to hunt it down and it is reasonably priced. Love it.

Zzip Cold Sore Treatment
I first got to review this for another website I wrote for. I get cold sores at least 4 times a year, if not more. They are horrid things. So uncomfortable, so ugly and super contagious so I always worry about passing them to L or Husb.
I have tried everything.
Creams, plasters, natural remedies. Cheap, expensive. You name it. I have had varying success rates.
Then I tried Zzip. A blue liquid in a tiny black and white tube that costs a small fortune at around £8 for 3ml.
It is so worth it though. My cold sores can have already blistered. I can have 8 plus on my lip that have appeared within an hour, stealthily, whilst I am out and can’t do anything to stop them. Hurrah for Prime delivery, next day, even on Sundays is all I can say after that one.
Apply Zzip 3 times a day with a cotton bud. Ta da, in a few days they are gone. Normally that bad they would linger for weeks regardless of the treatment I was using. With a normal single cold sore that I have caught early enough it will stop it dead in its tracks. I flipping love this stuff and would spend as much as I had too to get hold of it.

YOU Home Cleaning
I never thought I would find myself loyal to one particular cleaning brand. I have tried loads over the years and all are good, especially at different things.
Then I found YOU and I love it. Not only is it now the only brand I spend my own money on, but I will actually travel to Waitrose just to buy it. It is the only reason I go to Waitrose, just to buy it.
It cleans brilliantly but that’s not really why I love it, they all clean well.
I like the teeny tiny refill pots, that don’t take up any space in my cupboard. They are natural, that technically I could drink the stuff and be OK, one less thing to worry about. Each one, bathroom, window, kitchen, smells different and smells good. I also like the packaging, I know it’s only a little thing, but our bathroom one lives on an out of reach but visible shelf, so it matters a little.
What little things have you found that have been a bit life changing and you now wouldn’t be without?

The Tale of Mummyhood
Disclosure – I have received samples of all these things over the years, but this article was not expected nor requested. They are things I now go out and buy with my own money.
Interesting article! Therapearl eye mask is one of the best ways to deal with dry eyes. It can be used to treat eye allergies such dry eyes, puffy eyes, and blepharitis. It is also useful for headaches.
Oh I love the idea of the eye mask, it sounds so relaxing! I bet there’s nothing better after a long day that to sit back and pop a mask on…bliss! It’s fab that you’ve found some great products! Thanks so much for linking up to #Blogstravaganza xx
