This Plus That Equals…. My Travel Essentials

This plus that equals…. my travel essentials

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about travel essentials. We’ve got loads of trips planned this year and in my bag you’ll always find a few staples.

i Spy

i-Spy Books

There is one for every occasion and L loves them. So do I if I’m being honest. We got the nature one for on the Boat and it will be great for Bluestone too. There’s a beach one which is going to be great for Cornwall. The airport one is great for killing those hours in departures. The Motorways i-Spy book has helped on several occasions. L doesn’t care if they get repeated, it’s the search thats fun.

They don’t cost too much and are suitable for all ages. They even make a nice family activity. I’m a big fan. SuuBalm

Suu Balm

This is a little tube of magic. It fixes itchy skin. So if it’s dry from being on a plane or in an air conditioned car for too long. If you’ve gotten too hot or been bitten. Provided the skin isn’t broken this will fix it and you can use it on kids too.

The menthol in Suu Balm soothes the itch quickly to prevent the urge to scratch while ceramides help restore moisture. This not only breaks down the itch-scratch cycle but prevents the potential damage to the skin caused by scratching.

Travelling with Rescue

Rescue Remedy

To be fair this isn’t just for travel, I’ve always got some form of Rescue Remedy on me.

The Chewing Gum is perfect for when I’m driving, sometimes I can find it really stressful, the chewing gum is the easiest and most effective thing for me.

I’m a big fan of the spray and the classic drops too, it just helps give me a little help with the joys of arranging the travel requirements of my family. swish-to-go_mint

Swish to Go

Swish to Go is a quick dissolving powder that is a natural way to achieve cleaner teeth, healthier gums and long lasting fresh breath. Use as part of your daily routine, without the need for water, it’s quick and discreet to use, anytime, anywhere.

It’s safe for kids and adults. Easy to pack. Easy to use. It’s great when you feel you need a little refresh after a long flight or car journey, especially after meals. And as you just swish it around your mouth and swallow, you can use it on the go. I’ve been really impressed with the difference it makes and now it lives in my travel bag.

Paperblanks Flexis

Pen and Paper

This one is so simple but easily forgotten. A pen and a notepad is hours worth of games and drawing. Hours! It doesn’t matter how bored L is getting if I can find some paper and pen he can scribble and draw, we can do noughts and crosses, do silly dot to dots we’ve made up and he’s happy.

It’s great if you need to sign anything when you arrive at your destination or make notes whilst you’re away (WiFi password anyone?). Plus I love being able to jot down blog ideas and make notes.

Finally, I’m linking up with #TwinklyTuesday, #Blogstravaganza, #StayClassyMama and #fortheloveofBLOG

  1. Absolutely love them! It looks that they can help us, thanks for sharing this post.

  2. I love the idea of the i spy books. We always play that game but never seen the books. I think i need them. Thank you for sharing with #StayCLassyMama

  3. I agree that having pen and paper is essential for traveling, I couldn’t go without them. The balm looks good too, I imagine it would come in handy.

  4. I like the look of those I spy books! We like the magic drawing books on our journeys or at restaurant tables. They’re small ringbound books with almost blank pages, until you use the little water filled pen to reveal the pictures! Once dry you can use them again and again! They’re mess free and fab! #twinklytuesday

  5. My new travel essential is a hand pump espresso maker – it takes pods but it’s pretty good! Great for countries where the coffee is cr#p. #TwinklyTuesday
