This plus that equals…. October plans
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about my plans for the coming month.
October is a month of birthdays, L is turning 5 next week. Not sure how that’s happened. Husb’s birthday is the following week. Lots of baking for me.
Then there are also a few friends and family with birthdays.
We’ll be having a big family lunch for L at the weekend and also going on a day out with his best friend whose birthday is the day before and we’ll have a special tea on his actual birthday as he is at school.
I’m taking husb away for the weekend, that’s his present and I feel I may be benefiting a lot from that too, oops! It’s going to be a good month.
I am so freaking excited for half term, I literally cannot wait to have my baby boy to myself for a week and a half. I’ve booked the time off work and got a few little plans for him.
I want to go to a pumpkin patch, I want to go to the cinema and I want to go to the beach with him. I know he’ll probably be exhausted and grumpy and none of that will happen, but you never know.
JCB World Headquarters Tour
Earlier in the year I had taken L to the East Anglian Game & Country Fair to see the Dancing JCBs. We had a brilliant time and I actually won a competition to visit the JCB World Headquarters for a tour and lunch.
L is too young to go, which is sad as it would blow his mind but we’re going to go for the weekend and I’m actually really looking forward to it.
It’s going to be nice to have a weekend away but I also think it will be really interesting to see behind the scenes.
This may be hard for many of you to believe, but anti social and anxiety riddled little me is actually going out this month. More than once, with people I’ve only just met or don’t even really know!
I’ve got lunch planned in with one of my mum friends, that will be nice. I’ve got another lunch planned with a different mum who I don’t know as well but we seem to be getting on well and the boys like each other, so that will be nice.
Perhaps most shockingly one of the mums has arranged a Tropics Party for the reception class mums and I’m actually going, willingly! I have no actual idea what Tropics is, will have to Google it, and I only know three of the ladies going but I thought it would be a nice way to learn who people are and decide who I like and who I don’t!
I’m all for pushing myself out of my comfort zone and I’m hoping that if L sees me trying so hard to make friends he’ll follow suit.
Something just for me
This is now definitely to be a permanent fixture. I deserve one moment a month just for me.
This month I want to try and carve out a regular slot of time for myself. Even if it’s just an hour, but I’m hoping with the new school/work routine going so well I should be able to do that.
I’m thinking an hour for Yoga or a walk, nothing special, just something that I always do and have a certain time for. I just need to work out when exactly!
Finally, I’m linking up with #TwinklyTuesday, #Blogstravaganza and #StayClassyMama
