This Plus That Equals…. Our Summer

This plus that equals…. our Summer

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about how we have been and will continue to spend our Summer.

Summer Plans
On the beach in Turkey

Holidays

I know, I know we’ve had a few. Boating with Herbert Woods. All Inclusive in Turkey. Exploring at Bluestone. Well we’ve still got camping at Trevornick to go and I can’t wait I haven’t been to Cornwall in years and it seems like the perfect way to celebrate L leaving nursery and to have a break just before he starts school.

Days Out

I’ve got so many days out on my list I don’t know if we’ll fit them all in. L wants to go back to the Transport Museum in Carlton Colville. I want to take him to Bressingham Steam Gardens. We will definitely go to the beach at least once, probably more, there are so many beaches in Norfolk. We’re heading off to Cambridge for the day and I’d love to take the train to London and go to London Zoo. I also quite fancy a trip on the steam train along the Poppy Line.

Walking

When the sun is shining I will be walking. We’ve taken to exploring the fields at the back of our house. Going further and further each time we head off. I have been loving it. We send quite a lot of time walking, it is one of my favourite things to do. Hopefully I’ll rack up plenty of steps! Walking also means a break from the non-stop sports on the TV, it is honestly getting a bit ridiculous. I’m not a sports fan and just want to watch some Netflix but apparently these sporting events are all super important or something.

Seeing Friends

Summer is always the perfect time to catch up with friends. Gin night in the garden is a tried and tested favourite.

The sunshine also make sit easier for the kids, especially when most of my friends have children of wildly differing ages to L. Catching up at a park is so much easier than finding an activity that will keep all the kids happy and not break the bank, they can just run and blow off steam, perfect.

A lot of my friends also have a bit more time available to them this time of year, whether they’ve booked time off work to look after their own kids or are just making the most of the longer evenings it always seems easier to catch up during the summer.

Having FunĀ

Mostly I just want to have as much fun as we can this summer. The last summer before he starts school.

We want to splash in the paddling pool, surprise daddy after work with water balloons (way more fun for us than him), chill with movie afternoons, explore, laugh and hopefully leave L with a bucket full of happy summer memories that will see him through to next summer when I’ll do it all again in a six week window!

Finally, I’m linking up with #TwinklyTuesday, #Blogstravaganza, #StayClassyMama and #fortheloveofBLOG
