This plus that equals…. the weather
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about the weather. It’s all anyone can talk about at the moment, will it snow, won’t it snow? Even without the threat of snow it’s all anyone can talk about!
Will it, won’t it? All I know is the people in the supermarkets are panic buying and owning all the bread and milk will not change anything so stop fighting over it the aisles, it’s embarrassing.
I actually quite like snow and can’t bring myself to get het up about it. The school will be open or it won’t. I will be home looking after the kid or taking to easy on the drive to work.
OK the levels of snow last year were excessive and after day 3 I was bored, day 5 we were all bored and had run out of bread and milk. Though I hasten to add, none of starved so fighting in the aisles and being horrid to staff, still embarrassing. Embarrassing and mean.
My least favourite weather type, it’s wet and irritating.
That being said I will not let it ruin a day out. So many times we’ve arranged to do something and it rains, we live in England after all. If we’ve made plans we’ll see them through, we like to get out and about, so we own good waterproof clothes.
As they say, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.
My favourite kind of sunshine doesn’t actually come with heat. No, no. I love nothing more than a bitterly cold, calm Autumnal day with clear skies and bright sun.
The kind of day to get out walking at the coast, or anywhere really. The cold means I get to wrap up, and winter clothes suit me more than summer. The cold also means any walk gets finished off with a hot chocolate, mmm mmm.
I’ll take any kind of sunshine though, I honestly think a little sunshine makes anything better.
This used to be up there with rain. But I decided to embrace the blustery days and last year at the beach acted like a child and made my husband buy me a kite!
It’s always nicer to find a way to enjoy yourself and if that takes an owl kite then so be it.
I just wish my lovely trellis had made it through the storms the other night, the roses won’t be the same again.
I don’t handle the heat so well. Unless I’m sat down in the shade with a book and a drink, then I’m a happy camper.
I like the summertime and the ease it beings when going out, a nice warm day is perfect. But the heat and the humidity, they are not for me.
I’m still looking forward to the summer, paddling pool fun, beach days and endless ice creams.
Finally, I’m linking up with #TwinklyTuesday, #Blogstravaganza and #StayClassyMama
