This Plus That Equals…. What I Would Do if I Won the Lottery

This plus that equals…. what I would do if I won the lottery

Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about what I would do if I won the lottery. I’m talking a big win here, I life changing, multi million win. That one we all dream of and plan for. But of course you’ve got to be in it to win it and Lottoland allows you to enter loads of different options!

Win the lottery

Dream holiday

Literally the first thing I would do is go on my dream holiday. You know whilst I get used to the idea of being rich. We’d fly out to the states, First Class obviously, thus ticking off one of my bucket list dreams.

We would fly into San Francisco and spend a few days there before hiring the fanciest RV we can and driving down to Chico to see my family. Then we’d drive to Tahoe where we got married. Up to Oregon to see some more family. The plans are loose after that. We’d drive and stop where we fancied it. Sometimes treating ourselves to a hotel. I’d want to see the Grand Canyon, take in Route 66, Disney would have to be done at some point, eventually we’d end up in New York. It would be amazing.

Buy a new house

I actually love where we live, so this is a tough one. But if we won really big we’d certainly move. I’d stay in Norfolk and find a fancy house, with a long drive and loads of land. If it didn’t have a swimming pool I’d build one and we’d have to have a putting green at the very least for husb.

We’d have goats and a pig and I would have my very horse.

We’d have so much space, I would have an amazing kitchen and don’t even get me started on the bathroom.

Check out the house I have been lusting after for many a year. It has a moat, an actual moat, dream come true. I’m sure it will be for sale again when I have the won the lottery!!

Help our family

We’d make sure everyone had enough to have a home and be more than a little comfortable.

There’s no point being rich if those you love are struggling.

I’m pretty certain our friends would benefit as well. I would love to treat them and pay them back for all they have done for me. If it was treating me to a meal out when they knew I was broke or answering the phone in the middle of the night, I’m blessed with amazing friends.

Be sensible

We’d make sure we were well invested. With money put aside for L in some kind of trust, safe for his future.

I would never want to be in the position that we had all the money we could ever need, then we spent it all or lost it or did something something stupid. I would want to know that L would be safe forever.

Do the little things we’ve always wanted to do

I’ve always wanted to have my own library room. Husb would want to play golf every day and get really good.

We’d get to spend some real time together and not feel bad about the time we spend apart. We wouldn’t have to work, so that would free up a lot of time!!

Do fun things with our friends. Spoil the people who have looked after us and helped us so much. My friend Sarah who always treats me to lunch. My friend Kim who always comes to mine to save me the trip and is literally at the end of the phone 24/7.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

  1. I always daydream about winning the lotto! I would definitely get a new house and splurge on decorating it. Also I think I would like to travel the world for a couple of months… Thank you for sharing with #StayClassyMama

  2. my main thing would be securing the children’s education, it is my biggest worry. I would also love to get a couple of acres with a gorgeous home, not too big, cosy yet specs to retreat, a pool would be nice, and then I could have lots of pets. #Blogstravaganza

  3. Your dream house sounds amazing! I’d certainly buy extra land to fill with all different kinds of animals. Especially chickens, I love chickens! Thanks so much for hosting this week, it’s fab to have you! Xx

  4. I love this idea! I actually asked my husband this on our first date after we had our daughter, and we wanted to talk about something non-kid-related. We both agreed on helping out family and paying off debt as our first orders of business. Then he wanted to travel to Spain and I wanted to go to Asia, so we landed at an impasse. I suppose fantasy Lotto winnings would cover both fantasy trips.

  5. I’d do everything that is on your list. I would want to be so sensible but wouldn’t it be lovely if you could just go and get that thing you wanted without having to worry about whether you could afford it. #blogstravaganza

  6. If I won the lottery I would pay off loved ones mortgages and give to charity. I would take all my closest friends on a luxury holiday so we all could be together. Fun post! #blogstravaganza

  7. I would buy a home for my family and for others in my family circle who need one! #StayClassyMama

  8. My list would look pretty much like yours, I love the idea of buying memories and adventures rather than things as well as giving to charity. I never play any lottery games though as the stats aren’t very favourable. Holding thumbs for you though!! 🙂 #blogstravaganza

  9. I would buy loads of properties and set my family up for the rest of their lives, and hopefully future generations. Of course, it’ll never happen as I never play!
