This plus that equals…. why I love Christmas in July
Here’s the latest instalment in my series of posts all about what makes our lives here at home tick. This week is all about Christmas in July. The time of year all the big brands, supermarkets and high street stores showcase their Christmas ranges.
It’s Christmas, in July – Yeah it’s as good as it sounds. The shows are nearly always in London, so you get to step off the hot, busy and crowded streets and enter a winter wonderland. Some brands go all out, others not so much. But I have been snowed on this year. Thanks Tesco!

I haven’t had to organise it – There’s been no gift buying. No cooking. No wrapping. So I get to enjoy all the food and drink with none of the effort. More often than not I get a little gift bag as well. Christmas in July is easier than actual Christmas.
It’s a great chance to catch up with friends – More often than not I share the Christmas in July joy with a friend. It means we get to have a really good chat without the kids. I also often bump into other bloggers or PR guys I haven’t seen in ages and have a good catch up.

I can get organised in advance – There’s a reason they pick July. It’s so all the big media outlets can get ready for an October print. But as a blogger I have just seen so many inspiring things. From decorations to crafts. Gifts to food. My head is spinning with ideas so I can get my typing fingers going and have my articles ready early. This means more free time closer to the main event.
Festive food and drink – Mince pies, mulled wine, cocktails? I’ve already had my first festive treats of the season OK I might cry if I have to eat more Panetone but it’s never to early for a mince pie.

So what do you think about an early Christmas?

This really looks and sounds FAB! I was so jealous that there was a Hobby Craft one, and will HAVE to figure out a way to get there next year.

If you can get a few all on the same day is really worth while. It’s so much fun but also just a lot of inspiration xx
I had never even heard of it before! We are having our Christmas in July at home in which Zach keeps pretending to be Santa! We even have the santa stop here sign hanging on a cupboard door so that when he’s ready, Santa knows where to go! Seriously…it’s ridiculous!!! Thanks for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday
Aww that’s so cute!
Looks great! I love Christmas, it’s just a shame I live so far away from London 🙁 x #fortheloveofBLOG
It’s a real shame when everything is in London and you don’t live close. It’s a 3 hour journey each way for me so I have to be a bit choosey xx
Aww I was really jealous seeing all the other bloggers go to Christmas in July – it sounds like great fun!! Lovely pics and I must go next time x #thebabyformula
