We love a good sticker book in this house, it provides hours of simple, mess free entertainment. L has also recently been asking a lot, and I mean a lot, of questions about Unicorns. He’s been somewhat obsessed. So when Topps asked if we would like to have a look at their latest collection, I Believe in Unicorns, I of course said yes.
I have to say L’s first impression was not favourable, I had apparently missed the memo that said Unicorns were for girls, which is clearly who this collection is pitched at. L has certainly been going through a phase of boys stuff vs girls stuff, so all the pink upset him for a bit. We soon got over it though and lure of stickers won.
Stickers always win. Especially when those stickers are all different and to be collected, he loves a good collection and between the Cars Minis and Thomas Minis and anything giraffe-esque, stickers at 60p a pack is a welcome relief!!
The starter pack comes with the sticker book, obviously, I quite liked this one with the edition of a few puzzles, mini quizzes and colouring in to be done. I thought that was nice and added another level of interaction you don’t always get with a sticker book. You also get a few packs of stickers to start you off and a hair chalk, queue my hair and his hair being green for a few days.
We also got sent two entire boxes of stickers. We completed our sticker book using just one box, by the time I had opened 59 of the 60 packs, we had every single sticker and a whole heap of duplicates.
On top of all the stickers we got a cute bracelet that L makes me wear to work everyday, to look after it, and a lovely poster. Thanks Topps!
L loved the excitement of the different stages of stickering, the initial phase where almost every sticker you get has an open spot in the book through to the end stages when you are excited to get a missing sticker.
He also liked that in each packet you got 1 special sticker, be it a shaped sticker or a large shiny sticker. These were a big hit. I liked the easy peel backs! All the standard sized stickers are scored down the back so can bend the stickers and pull of each half of backing with ease, so much easier for kids and adults alike!!
Now our book is complete he’s done some of the colouring and the puzzles, but the main lure, matching the numbers on the back of the stickers to the numbers in the book, has gone so I don’t think he’ll be heading back to it. It was lovely to watch him matching up the numbers and it was a fun thing for us to do together.
If your kids love a good sticker book as well Topps have given me a Starter Pack and a whole box of stickers as a prize for one lucky winner, could be a bit or entertainment for that long summer break from school!
