We love Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure and have visited many, many times over the years. It has something for everyone and is the perfect way to spend a day this summer.
I’ve written in depth about Roarr! before, covering all the reasons we think it’s great. Today I’m just going to cover some reasons it’s fab during the summer.
It will fill a whole day!
If, like me, you simply can’t afford to take the kids to every fun thing they see over the summer you need to know the money you are spending is going to good use. You don’t want a half day then over tired and bored kids all afternoon. No, you want a full day and exhausted kids that go to bed early with no fuss. Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure will give you just that. There is so much to do and plenty of places to stop for a picnic or buy food you can be there from open to close. We sometimes struggle to fit everything in during a visit.
Dippy’s Splash Zone
Hot and bothered? Need to cool down? Pop the kids in their swimsuits and watch them run, jump, slide and splash in Dippy’s Splash Zone. It’s a fab area that was made for summer, though we’ve braved it on chillier days as well!! It is brilliant. The slide is fun, all the sprays and jets are brilliant. You can get a little wet and play it safe or you can get a soaking from the giant bucket. It’s a great mix and I can normally get away but just wearing a pair of shorts and chasing L around. Even if you’ve forgotten everything you can grab a towel and a t-shirt from the gift shop so the kids can make the most of it, or just let them dry in the sun as you enjoy a drink.
Don’t fancy eating a picnic outside with the inevitable wasps? We certainly didn’t, whilst they’re not normally an issue L had got stung on our last visit. He was dealt with brilliantly by the staff at Roarr! with a medal for bravery and an ice pack we were off enjoying the day. That being said he was a bit nervous of them for the rest of the day, so when it came to lunch we headed for the air conditioned coolness of Dippy-ville. With indoor picnic benches, soft play for the really little ones and a fun game area for the larger kids it’s the perfect spot for lunch. It’s nice to have a few different indoor areas to visit during the day if the weather is a bit iffy, be it too hot or too cold!
The park is in full swing
The best bit about visiting during the summer is that the park is fully on the go. Things like the free to race quads and jeeps of the Stone Age Road Race aren’t always open, so by going during the summer you know you’ll get to see everything the park has to offer. Dippy will be sure to make an appearance, as will the explorer (who managed to pop a penny out from behind L’s ear, magic) and maybe even a real life dinosaur. Summer means you get it all, but don’t worry about crowds, the park is big enough for everyone and at no point did we feel crowded or face a wait for anything. The only thing with a queue was the Predator HIgh Ropes, which is to be expected and was being managed very well.
I’m not going to go into huge detail about everything else the park has to offer as I’ll only be repeating myself. But needless to say there are dinosaurs, walking, mazes, fun and a lot of play to be had. It’s a fab day out for the whole family.
