Who else is desperate for a bit of entertainment? Something different. Basically not another walk! Well Epic Escapes is here to save the day with their fabulously fun and tricky Escape Room in a Box (3in1) kit. We love it and better still I’ve got a set to giveaway worth £99.
In the kit you get everything you need for three escape room adventures, each with increasing difficulty level. Don’t worry you get some help cards too incase you need them. These are well made, reusable items, so you can play again and again. With different people of course. Don’t worry there are even expansion packs planned so the fun doesn’t have to stop.
These challenges are designed to be enjoyed by groups of 3-6 people. But don’t worry you can play with just two, one to be the gamemaster and one to do the solving. The more who play, the more fun you’ll have, so we’re saving the two harder missions for when we can see our friends. I can’t wait until I see my friends.
We started with the Crime mission, the easiest of the three, just the three of us, 2 adults and a 7 year old. Because I set everything up I was the Gamemaster and basically out of the game play but I still had fun and got to do some elements of the puzzles where I hadn’t seen the answers. Parts L was able to do by himself which he enjoyed it and the rest was great for us grown ups, worryingly tricky in places considering it was the easiest one! It is definitely a game for adults, with adult puzzles, but it was nice to be able to have L join in. It does show that it is a game for everyone though!
You then have Piracy, the middle level and Hijack which is the hardest level and looks awesome.
If you have played one of the escape room or murder mystery board games then you might think you know what you’re in for but you really don’t. These escape rooms are so good, it’s really immersive, like you are in the story and you get loads of different things to do. Riddles and puzzles, as well as finding all the clues you need to solve the codes. It’s as close to a real escape room as you are going to get at home. Each escape takes around 1 hour to solve and you can submit your time online to be in with the chance of winning an expansion pack.
If you sign up to their mailing list you’ll even get sent a weekly brain teaser, which is great fun and has proven very popular at work.
