Win with Piccolo

To celebrate Piccolo launching the UK’s first fully recyclable baby food pouch recently they have arranged for one of my readers to win a Yellow & Go multipack and a bundle of Piccolo goodies.

Their new mono-material ‘Yellow & Go Pouch’ is tackling the issue of pouch recyclability within the industry. It is the first ‘closed-loop’ recyclable pouch available to parents in the UK which is a massive step in the right direction!

Even the cat wanted in on this one, it was very difficult to get pictures that didn’t involve him, so I gave up!

Although not all UK councils recycle the pouches yet, we believe it’s important to act now to offer parents more sustainable options and ensure a greener future for our children. Piccolo have partnered with First Mile so that all our Yellow & Go pouches can be recycled. All parents need to do is put our empty pouches back in the multipack box, print the free returns label, and pop it in the post.

We have had some of the pouches to try and yes I am aware my son is 7 and not a baby but he really enjoys the Yellow & Go pouches as a treat and as they are packed full of vegetables and fruits I am not going to be saying no! He loves them and they are great for chucking in lunch boxes or just in a pocket for a quick snack. When he’s finished we just pop the lid back on and bring them home ready to be recycled.

L loves the Yellow & Go as a filling after school snack. It’s just like a smoothie for him.

Now I’ll be honest I haven’t checked if my council can support curbside recycling of the pouches, I have just assumed they can’t as it seems for the main part there is very little they can or will recycle, so I have gone straight for the option of posting them off to be recycled. There is a QR code on the packaging you can scan get the free returns label. It’s quick and easy. Then either just pop them back in the multipack box stick the label on and send them to First Mile who do all the clever recycling stuff so they can be turned back into more pouches.

The Yellow & Go pouches are suitable for 6 months and up, they are made with a great blend of butternut squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, coconut and mango. As you would expect from Piccolo they use organic produce and they have got the taste factor sorted, as I mentioned my son loves them.
