Now L does love a good collectable, the smaller, squishier and potentially messier the better. Zuru Smashers tick all the boxes, they are funny little characters, in smashable eyeballs, that may or may not contain slime and are entirely gross. He loves them!
I’m going to be entirely honest with you, I’m not sure I get them. I don’t understand the slime obsession, I don’t understand why toilets are funny, I find rebuilding fake eyeballs to watch them being smashed tiresome, I really don’t understand why these weird little characters are so flipping appealing. I, however, am not a five year old boy. If I were, I’m sure I’d get it, because my five year old boy is mad about them.
Let’s start with the fact he’s been given something that is designed to be smashed up and broken, well that’s a right winner.
There is the excitement of finding out if you’ve been lucky enough to get one covered in slime, and what kid doesn’t love slime?!
Small collectable characters that come in a variety of themes, including ‘Odd Bodies’, ‘Icky Insects’, ‘Ooze
Dudes’, ‘Awful Animals’, ‘Filthy Food’, ‘Toilet Humour’, and ‘Smash Trash’, I always think the less appeal the title has to an adult the more appeal it has to a child. This is a case in point.
Then there are the extras you can get, like the ‘Sludge Bus’ a playset that allows you to store some of your Smashers characters in the bus seats and drive them around and unfolds to reveal a poo you can squeeze and see worms pop out of and a toilet you can catapult the characters into.
Quite honestly there is nothing about these little toys that doesn’t appeal to him.
What I will say is that although I do not understand his fascination with them I really do appreciate the price, starting at £1.99 and going up to the very affordable heights of £19.99, What parent doesn’t love a collectable where they can actually afford the good bits!
All in all these are a fun little toy that will entertain for hours.
